Nurture Fostering is a family run and owned Independent Fostering Agency based in Lewisham South East London. We are looking to recruit on a six month contract a Social Work Assistant to support out Supervising Social Workers. The role will involve supporting foster carers and associated children within the placement, responding to urgent daily challenges and daily recordings and writing of Progress reports and supervision. The hours will be Monday-Friday 9-5.30pm and will be predominately office based with visits to foster carers homes. Communication both written and verbal are key to this role and therefore previous experience of report writing and attending meetings in a professional capacity will be key. We are looking to recruit an individual who has previous experience of working with children and families and who can work within a team, sharing relevant information and keeping colleagues informed of any changes within the family home. Experience of writing detailed reports and computer literacy are both essential skills. We will require a minimum education level of NVQ 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or Working with Children and Young people. This role is subject to full children and adult workforce safeguarding checks.
